The Bad and Worthless. are never imitated or counterfeited. This is especially true of a family medicinij, and it is positive proof that the remedy initiated ia of the highest value. As soon as it had been tested and proved by the whole world that Hop Bitters was the purest, best, and most valuable family medicine on earth, many imitations sprung up. and began to steal the notices in which the Pres3 and the people of the country had expressed the merits of H. 8., and in every way trying to induce suiFering invalids to use their stuff instead, expecting to make money on the credit and good name of H. B. Many others started nostrums put up in similar style to H. 8., with variously devised names, in which the word " Hop or "Hops" were used in a way to induce people to believe they were the same as Hop Bitters. All such pretended remedies or cures, no matter what their stjle or name is, and especially those with the word "Hop' or " Hop 3 " in their name, or in any way connected with them or their name are imitations or counterfeits. Beware of them. Touch none of them. Use nothing but genuine American Hop Bitters, with a bunch or cluster of green Hops on the white label, and Dr. boule's name blown in the glass. Trust nothing else. Druggists and Chemists are warned against dealing in Imitations or counterfeits.

Prospecting Tracks.— Cr Murphy suggested that if the council were in fuii Is a number of prospecting tracks might be cut tl irons? h the bush on the ruuies. Tiie expire would be small AMiou compared with the possible suUantasfo? that would be derived from the work The Thames County Conncil had spent some money in cutting these tracks, and they had derived very considerable advantage indeed. This matter was well worthy the immediate attention o. 1 the council. Theie was slilU large area of auriferous country about Te Aroha ami Karangahake that had not been prospected, and that promised great things. He had seen Mr .1. B. WhyteatTe Aroha, and he promised that' the Government would only be too happy to give a £2 for a £1 subsidy on the expenditure on prospecting tracks. The question of ways and means was discussed by the council. It was generally admitted that the work was both commendable and necessary. After considerable discussion, it was unanimously agreed on the motion of Cr Chepmeli, ''That an application be made to the Minister for Alines for the sum of £1000 under the £2 to £1 system, in aid ol tracks at j. oldtield, and that the enginee be instructed to prepare an estimate of such works to cost £lf>oo, indu ling work done on the lower and other track-* to the extent of £500, the estimate to be forwarded to t .c Government. Slaughter-House, Waioronpom.u.— liobt. Mackay wrote to fie effect that he was about to erect a slaughter-house on his holding (Thimes High School reserve), and wanted to know if the coimc'l would grant a license to the same when erected. No action was taken, it being left to tl»e applicant to taue the usual course in t .c matter"
