BANQUET AT KAWAKAWA. Kawakawa, Nov 26.
Old residents, to the number of forty, banquettecl Mr W. H Williams (former manager of the coal mines) in Swift's Star Hotel last night. MrWilliams had arrived unexpectedly the same mornng, and the haste and anxiety shown to do him honour go far to express the general feeling towards an old manager who has been absent t-ix years, and pays a flying visit of 24 hours. During the speech of the Chairman (the present manager, Mv Moody), it came out that the Kawakawa coal mines have not looked better than they do now for the past thre^.
