NORTH ISLAND TRUNK RAIL WAY. The Work to be Pushed.
WELLINGTON, Nov. 15. The Government intend to push on necessary surveys in connection with the North Island main trunk line as quickly as possible. Operations will be commenced at both ends, and i. ime of the surveyors engaged for the Northern section leave for Auckland by the Tarawera to-day. It is believed that the first contract will be out in two months, and work will commence simultaneously at Mar ton and Te A warn utu.
