OPPOSITION TO PARNELL His Dictation Not Relished in County Mayo.

New York, September 25. — The "Sun's" cable special from London of September 24th says : A curious political rebellion is now in progress in County Mayo, Ireland. The county is now represented in the House of Commons by J. O'Connor Power and Rev. Isaac Nelson. Parnell, it is understood desires the same men to contest the county again in the next general election, but a number of Nationalists of Mayo object to Parnell's dictation, and propose quite a different programme. These disaffected leuguei's took advantage of a fair held today at Balla to hold a secret meeting and discuss the political situation. They decided that they could no longer submit to the autocratic sway of Parnell, but would exercise the right of independent judgment and put in nomination candidates of their own selection. Their choice fell upon Captain Boycott, recently the most execrated man in Ireland, and John William Nally. The growing popularity of Captain Boycott is one of the most curious facts of current Irish history. Moderate observers consider it a sign of the waning influence of the Irish National League. Loyal Parnellites ridicule the idea ot any successful oppo&ition being possible in Mayo, but the fact is that any serious defection in that county is rendered significant by the fact that in April, ISSO, Mayo returned Parnell himself to Parliament by a handsome majority.
