Dress at Long Branch.
Last evening I saw the latest startling novelty in dress, worn by a young lady who was waltzing with a son of Sir Hugh Allan, a youth remarkable for his combination of lilac vest and tweed trousers and. coat. The young lady is a Philadelphian, a beauty, and an heiress. She was encased in a flesh-coloured silk, "tailored" to her figure so closely that every curve and bend of it was exposed. The sleeves fitted so tightly she could hardly raise her arm to her partner's shoulder, and every resp*>M tion was visible. Over this skin-fitting -mi was a plain drapery of exquisite black h.oo, the effect of which was absolutely startling, the wearer appearing like a flesh-tinted marble figure under a black veil, — FrQIB the < * Chicago Itttev-Qcea.n "
