Cowper. Sin, — The petition to the Warden of our goldfield praying him to veto the letting of the tiamway by the Piako County Council for a term of five yews, should receive a widespread support. The object of the Government, when donating the tramway, was to secure to our gold field the cheapest carriage possible for the conveyance of one •juartz to the crushing power.
