Melbourne, Aug 29. — Judgment in the equity suit, Bell v. Clarke, has been delivered. The decision of the Court is generally favourable to plaintiff. Melbourne, August 31. — The grandstand at the Melbourne Cricket Club's ground vas totally destroyed by fire this morning. The damage is estimated at £6,000. A serious fire occurred atFlemington this evening, resulting in the total destruction of the racing stables. Four thoioughbred horses, including Jessie, were destroyed by fire. Melbourne, September 1. The statement that Jessie was amonirst the horses burned to death at Flemington stables was incorrect. None of the animals destroyed were prominent ones. Mr Service, Premier and Colonial Treasurer, has agreed to Mr Griffith's proposal for a uniform import duty of three shillings per gallon on colonial wine. Meldourne, Sept. 2. —The spread of small-pox appears to be lessening in this city, only two fresh cases having occurred during the past fortnight. Sydney, August 28. A match for the championship of the world and £500 a-side has been arranged between Hanlan and Beach, and will take place on the Parramatta River on the first Saturday in May next year. A sculling match had been arranged between Clifford and Teenier for £500 a-side. Sydney, August 29. A sculling match has been arranged between Hanlan and Clifford, to take place within five months. The stakes are to be £500 a-side Sydney. Sept 1. — Small-pox is increasing in Sydney and suburbs. Fresh cases have occurred in Kent-street, in the city, and at Glebe. The patients have been placed in quarantine. Adelaide, Sept. 2.— Arrived, last evening : Orient steamship Liguria, from Plymouth. Cardinal Moran, Archbishop- elect of Sydney, is a passenger by her.
