Thcie weie thiily invited, including Messrs Mitchelson, Hurst, Lake, Locke and other Aucklanders. Owing to the political excitement and Committee meetings, only 10 were piescnt, Mr Locke being the only representative from Auckland dibhict. The object of the meeting was to inlioduco such legislation as would grant endowments to these bodies. Some discussion took place, but no action was taken, the meeting being adjourned till a more convenient season.
