About twenty summonses had boon issued at the suit of the Receiver of Gold Kovonu.' and Mining Inspector against parties in arrear with their rent o?i business and residence sites. In each case judgment was given for tlie atiiouiit claimed ami eo^ts. Mining Inspector and Receiver of O ild Revenue v. John O'Shea, ol tim I £15 for arrears of rent on the Licensed ! Holding. No. 101, known as the "Blackbird.*' Judgment for amount sued for and co^ts Ids. Mining Insper-tor and Receiver of Gold Revenue v. i Jam 'S Gordon. Complaint made that defendant was cutting and selling titnber, not having a timber license. defendant showed that an agreement existed between himself and a Native named Taitua. who possessed a license, and that he had been acting on his behalf. Case dismissed.
