CONCERT AT WAIORONGOMAI.

A most successful concert in aid of the Band of Hope Organ Fund was held in the school-liouse, Waioromjomai, on Friday evening. August Ist. J England (piano); song, "Absent Friends/ by Mr W. J. England; song, " Auld Robin Gray," by Airs Darby, was fairly given, but this lady was sulToring from cold and has Leon neard to much better advantage. Duet, "Albion, 5*5 * by Messrs Whitehonse and Burgess well rendered and loudly applauded. Pianoforte solo, •' Tarentellu," by Air* VV. F. Hunt, was well played. Comic duet (in character) " Grandfather's Farmyard,'" by Messrs Vanse and Wliitehouse, caused much amusement, and in reply to vociferous encore, they gave " Johnny Morgan," which also greatly tickled the au lience. Sony, " Nancy Lee," by Mr W. F. Hunt was fairly sung. JSong,. "riifver Rhine," by Mrs Burgess, was sung with much taste aivl effect in this lady's usuil piecing style, was t:»e gen> of the evening, and was yerv highly appreciated. ' Chorus, " Hence away with care" by the Company. Part 2 : Selections by Messrs Wright and England (clarionet and piano), were well rendered. Come song in character, " Jam, Jam, Jam,"* by Mr Cottrell fairly brought down the house, ntu\ a repetition demanded. Duet> " Very Suspicious," by Mn> Darby and Mr T. A. England was creditably rendered. Song, " The battle of the A I inn," by Mr T. A. England was well sung. Comic song in character " Bother the men," by Mr Vause caused roars of laughter, Was loudly applauded, and had to be repeated. Duet, •• ABC," by Mrs Burgess and Mr Whitehouse was well given. Kong, by Miss Undio, rendered with taste, and well received. Comic song, "Pal rick mind the baby," by Mr Wnitehouse, eartscd much amusement. Song, " Th*» Bells of Abberi'o F ey," by Mrs Darby was sung ill English ami W>Js!i, and sweetly rendered ; the l;ist verse had to be repeated. Cnoriis, " Over yonder vale and hill," b} the Company. Mr W. H.
