Melbourne, July 19. The Victoria Racing Club's Steeplechase Meeting took place to-day at Flemington. The two principal events resulted as follows :—: — Grand National Hurdle Race, a handicap sweepstakes of lOsovs. each, 3ft., with 300 added. The second horse to receive 50sov&. and the third 25sovs. out of the stake. About 3 miles. Mr D. S. Wallace's Don Quixote, aged, by Don Giovanni, list 131b 1 Sundowner, lOst 31b 2 Ringwood, 12st 71b 3 Time, sm. 435. Grand National Steeplechase, a handicap sweepstake of 15sovs. each, 4ft., with 400 added. The second horse to receivo 50sovs. and the third 25sovs. out of the stake. About 3 miles. Mr W. Neil's Chippenham, aged, by Alarm, list 1 Friendless, syrs., 9st 121b 2 Moonlight, aged, lOst 71b S Twelve horses started. Time, 7 minutes.
