TO THE ELECTORS k OF WA1KAT0.

GENTLEMEN,— 1 X HAVE the honour to infoim you that it is my intention to offer myself for UK-ELECTION as your Representative in Parliament, and also that I intend shortly to ADDRESS you in the various centres of population, time and place to be notified in future advertisements. J. B. WIIYTE. Auckland, June 23rd,

THE ELECTORS OF THE WA1KAT0 GENTLEMEN,— I regret exceedingly that the state of my health will prevent my visiting the various centres of population, and Addressing 3-011 previous to the day of Nomination. I have, however, every reason to believe that before the meeting of the new Parliament my health will be biitficiently restored, to enable me to attend to your interests in Wellington, should you again think proper to send me there as your Representative. As regards the Politics of the paet my views are pretty well known to you by my actions, with only two recent exceptions, viz. ; The defeat of the Government and the question of Honorarium. As regards the first, I had decided to stand by my old friends, who, notwithstanding their many faults, Iwd served the Country faithfully, and were, in my opinion, infinitely to be preferred to an opposition, the various sections of which could only combine for ihe purpose of turning out the Government, not for carrying on the business of the country. As regards the Honorarium, I think you all know me sufficiently well to render any statement upon that subject unnecessary. Upon the Politics of the future, ] hope to be able to Addicts you on or before the day of Nomination. Meanwhile it will perhaps suffice to hay llut 1 intend to accord Majoi Atkinson a general suppoit, ab on tiie whole thesaiot guide which the Colony has at present at itb disposal. I ;im, Youis faithfully, J. B. W1IYTK, Auckland, July 9th, 1884.
