LICENSING COMMITTEE.
An adjourned meeting of the above was hold in thr\ OVMW^p on tK«» 21st instant. Present : Messrs Lavery (clutirmau), Pavitt, Lipsev. and Hunt. Application for renewal. —Cornelius MoManus, Oxford Royal Hotel, Oxford. The consideration of this application had been postponed from tho 7th instant for fuller information. Sergeant Em3i\son now reported that he had inspected the premises, and found them well kept, but in view of the increasing requirements of th» district more accom no lation was necessary. He had made strict inquiry regarding the management of the house, and learned that it was on the whole well conducted. On one or two oceassio s a number of navvies had assembled on Sundays and created some noise, but the applicant bad done all in his power to put a stop to disturbances. ttenewal granted, conditional on the erection of ton more ro<>m% and some alterations in the out-bnjldings ; but the applicant was informed that if any more complaints were made respecting the management of the hotel he would in all probability los 3 !ii<* license.
