Saw him at the Nottingham Castle Hotel on Saturday and Sunday. He slept there on Saturday night and had breakfast on Sunday morning. He liad been drink ing on Saturday night ,jind wanted drink on Sunday morning, but I refused him. After t'.\\s he became nois\ and lighting-, so 1 put him in the loose-box in t-'ie. stable. 1 lockei 3iim up there to koep him quiet. I was in the stable two or three times during t,e day. Believe he was sleeping, as he did not mpko any noise. Abcut two oYWk t\\<t nion rusneil to me and said my stable w.»- «n fire. Went out and fonnd tlie enveloped in smo'cepro•ceedinir from the loose-box. Found accused on his nands and knees near tle fire. Stamped the fire out and put water on it. Prisoner was discharged, there being lio evidence in support of t.ieacru«*iitn>:i. Alex. Kussell was charged by Sergt. 3^mei\>on that by excessive drinking of liquor he mis-spends and wastes his estate, and greatly injures his health. Order made prohibiting all licensed persons in Piako County to sell to accused any intoxicating liquor for the space of one year, from June 17th, 1884.
