SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The usual monthly meeting of the Te Aroha School Committee was heh! on Monday evening last in the school-room, Te Arolia. Present : Messrs J. Cuff (chairman), C. Ahier (sec ), J. Ilott, and D. J. Frazer. Minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the Board of Education re Mr Kalman's application to rent the building lately used for school purposes at Waiorougoniai, stating that the term for which it was taken expired on July 2<>th. It was therefore decided to take no further action in the matter. A communicarion was read from the Board of Education, requesting the Committee to value the school buildings an I all other property therewith in this district, and forward a return of same to the Board as soon as possible. After some discussion on the subject the maiter was left in the hands of the chairman for completion. The acceptance of Mr W. Bennetts temlei for firewood (17^ tons, 2ft lenghts) at 13s per ton, was confirmed, as was also the acceptance of Mr Roycroft's tender, 12s per ton, at Waiorongomai (length not given). Sundry accounts were passed for payment, and otuer minor matters attended to.
