The House of Representatives met at 2.30 A large number of petitions were presented.

I Bills Introduced. Mr Connolly gave notice of the Local Courts Bill, Alienation of Lands Bills and Bankruptcy Act Amendment Bill. Mr Dick gave notice of the Parliamentary Extension Bill, Representation Act Amendment Bill, Regulations of Election Act Amendment Bill, and Otago Harbours Act Amendment Bill.

The Financial Depression. Mr Maoandrew, on behalf of Mr Bastings, gave notice for a Select Committee to inquire into the financial depression now existing into the colony. The House adjourned at 3 o'clock until Tuesday.
