Willoughby'fl eh f Queen Adelaide, by Hermit —Adelaide 3 We shall have many pictorial representations of Sir William Jerveis to keep him in memory during his absence from Auckland. His portrait will be hung in the gallery of the Auckland Savings Bank, which contains many of Auckland^ worthy citizens. These were executed, large size, in oils, by Mr R. H. Barfclett, and are admirable specimens of the portrait-painter's art. His Excellency sat at Mr Bartletts studio in order that his picture may be added to the gallery, and he was also photographed in a variety of positions. The day before his departure from Auckland, he visited the studio of Messrs Hemus and Hanna, who executed several fine portraits of His Excellency and family during their former visit, and received letters of "special appointment." This time His Excellency was taken by the film in full regimentals, as a Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army. The portrait is a direct photograph, 15in. by 12in., and must be pronounced a decided success.
