It was agreed to acknowledge the receipt of the communication referred to and inform the Tauranga Cauncil that they had no funds in hand for the purpose.

Tramway Encinb. — On the application of Mr Gilfillan, secretary of the Buttery Company, the use of the portable engine on the tramway was accorded to the company for tramway uses.

The time was now at hand, however, when the crushing facilities of the battery would be fully engaged.
