A meeting of the abo»'e \va? held in the se.iool house on Tues Uiy evening la-4. The building was crowded ; Rev. Mr Fvi^ussou preside!, Mr W J. England acting as organist. Tue meeting opened in the usual manner, at't< r which the ciiairmaii uelivered an exc'llent address. The programme was a long and varied one, ail who took part in the entertainment doing u.'H, the result, being that the meeting proved a very great success, being- about tue best meeting Uiat has beon held in Waioiongmuai. Dialogues between M S:>es ilipley and Curtis, also between Miss Hotelim an i Mr A.sliuy, and by the Misses Smithes were well rendered. Mrs Dxrby sang "Tue (Soldier's Tear " in her usuil excellent style; Miss Sthol Hurst sang '• Who will buy my pretty flowers," and was in good vioce and her rendering of this song was really good. Miss Huxtable sang with pleajing effect, as did al.su Miss Snuthp. Songs by Messrs H-iw-kfns, Whitohou^e, an I Robertson were well rendered. The duet between Messrs Vauce and W.iiteliouse eauae<l m ich amusjruent. llecitations by the Misses Forsman, Hill, and D.uikin were well delivere l.a^ weie also tho recitations by Messrs Hawkins and H. Soppett. .Eea .ings were given by Messrs Vause and Lovell. The duet by the Misses Clarke (little girls of 5 or G summers) was rendered in good style, and received an encore and great applause. Mr Lovell, secretary, delivered an address, in the course of which he alluded to the Quartzville meeting and the success attending it. About 10 responded to the call to " sign." Hearty votes of thanks to the chairman and others who assisted were carried by acclamation.
