SUDDEN DEATH AT WAIORONGOMAI

— + On Monday last a child named Albert Walter Young, 2 years of age, youngest son of Mr David X Young, miner, residing at Waiorongoniai, was taken suddenly ill with vomiting, etc. The parents gave it some simple medicine, and it apparently got much easier, and slept well Monday nig'it. On Tuesday morning about 10 o'clock, whilst on its mother lknee, the child suddenly gave a gasp and died within a few minutes. Dv 13 nek by was at once sent for, but the child was dead before he arrived. An inquest wa« neld on Wednesday morning at the Premier Hotel, Waiorongoniai, before Harry Konrick, Esq., Coroner. Apost mortem examination was made l>y Di Buckby. The following jury were sworn : James Soppefet (foreman), Thomas Kirker, William J. Ellis, John OBrien, Robert Allan, David Hogan, Henry Baskiville, Isaac Scott, David Jones. Donald McLean, John Meir, James Stewart, Charles Brown, and J. Ji Kilian. The only evidence produced was that of the parents and Dr Buckby. The Jury returned a verdict to the effect fchat deceased died from congestion of the lungs.
