POST OFFICE, UPHILL.

This much-felt want has been at last supplied, and is greatly appreciated by the miners and tothers residing on the Hill. Since we last referred to the matter in a leading article some short time since, urging the absolute necessity for the establishment of a branch post office within easy reach of those engaged in our mines, a good deal of correspondence has passed between the Chief Postmaster at Thames and Mr Lovell, Waiorongomai postmaster, with the satisfactory result, that Mr Neally has been appointed sub-postmaster, ami the post office has been duly established at his store, which is situated right opposite Wells and Soutter's well-known Uphill store. The first mail was forwarded on April 12th.
