TE AROIIA GOLD MINING DISTRICT. Warden's (Mice, Te Aroha, 19th March, 1881. APPLICATION has been marie to me by The Ratteiy Company for pci mission to construct branch Water Races for Mining Puipopcs, commencing at points marked by Pegs on six creeks, over which the Wairakau Water Race is carried, and teiminating at points marked on said Wairakau Water Race. The mean breadth and depth of such races is 18 inches by 12 inches, and they aie each capable of carrying one sluice head of water. The purpose for which the bianch water races is required being to supplement the water in the Wairakau Water Race to the number of bluice heads for which it is gianled ; also to construct a branch race commencing at a point marker! by a peg on No. 1 tributary of the Waiorongomai Creek, about 20 chains above the A Water Race, and terminating at the main race. The moan breadth and depth of such branch race is 18 inches by ]2 inches, and it is capable of cairying one sluice head of water. The purpose for which this branch is require! being to supplement tho water in lihr- A Water Race to the number of sluice he ids for which it is granted.
