Exhibition of Fat Women.
If it bo true, as is now stated, that " fat " women, to whom their "fat" (and not their face) is their fortune, arc- simply vessels of wind blown in through needlemade pores, there is a new source of fun for the world. Though showmen never permit such a liberty on the part of their patrons as the poking of the " objects " in the ribs, there are divei's more decorous ways of testing their soundness. For instance, theadmiringpublicareoi'ten favouied by the fat fair one being ordered to " walk round and shake hands -with the ladies and gentlemen/ It is a poor crowd, trom a strategic point of \iew, if the a.ssemblage in the Mnall show-van cannot contrive a crush around the suspected prodigy. Should thejlady "go oil "under prc^uie, the trick explodes with her; but if on the other hand, the '* too solid flesh " does not melt, the wind theory clearly >\ ill not hold water.
