Ture site selected for the above new building is a very suitable one. Situated as it is on an eminence (adjoining the Hot Springs Domain) overlooking tlv whole town, and the surrounding countn for many miles, it can never be built in, or hidden from bight, even when the traditional 20.000 miners and others (of whom but a small quota have yet shown up) arc located in this districtTwo sections have been secured for the church !ind its grounds. The building has just been completed ; in style of arcuitecfure it is Gothic throughout. If s dimensions are, length 83i't, width 2 1 ft, height to eaves 14ft, total height lo ridge 32ft. A poich is added lOi'tx 7ftxl Bft. Inside the building Oft tit che upper is divided from the body of the church by handsome communion rails, 2ft 8 inches in height. Here the platform and altar are erected. The altar is Bft 0 inches by 6ft, with on) step. A hiindsome screen of ornamented kauri extends across the whole width of the altar, and projects 2ff fi inches from the end wall of the building. On Luis ih<) taberncle of carved knuri stands. The building is lighted by four double-sash windows on each si .c, Bftx2ft, whilst a handsome little 8 foil window is place 1 in the gable end, partly ground an I partly stained glass. A free circulation of air is secure. l by a double row ot ventilators. The roof is constructed of 3 " piineiples,"' strengthened with iron rods. The structure is match-lined t iroughout, and the exterior neatly painted. The roof is shingled, an I spouting and down pipes are provided all round. A large woolen cross is fixed on the gable end of the roof, whilst a smaller one is placed over the porch. Four very large and convenient steps lead to the church door. The building was designed and the plans provided by Messrs E. Mahoney and Sons, of Auckland, and the erection of same was supervised by our local architect, Mr F. Pavitt ; these gentlemen rendering their services free of charge.
