It is proposed to form a Company consisting of Five Thousand Shares of 20s Each, lor the purpose of Erecting a Batleiy of 20 Head Stampers and 10 Btrtlans (to be enlarged if circumstances demand). The position of Battery will be at foot of Butlei's Spur, upon the site lately held by Mr Bullock, which is only about 4£ chains from bottom of Butler's Spur. The Watei Eace site has already been secured, and the Engineer estimates its foice ample for driving 40 stampeis (theie being 40(5 ieet fall), and the Batleiy site i.j cleaied, and it only remains now to accept tendeis for the woik (as specifications are already piepared), and t.o complete the work at the earliest possible moment. The capital (£5000) is considered sufficient to erect 40 head, but it is deemed advisable only erect 20 head for the present. The shaics to be paid as follow : — 2s 6d on application, 2s Cd on allotment, and 2s Gd on Ist May,

and 2s 6d Ist June. The claims in the immediate vicinity to be beneh'tted most materially are Phoenix, Lucky Hit, Waioiongomai, Inverness, etc., and it is confidently anticipated that the field will be materially advanced by the erection of

above Battery. The cost of the 20 Stampers and 10 Berrlans is estimated at £2500, which will include the election of battery house, machinery in position, and the completion of water race.
