The large additions to this hotel have been completed for some weeks as far as the contractors were concerned, but the furnishing of s'line has only just been fini'hc!. We t'ns week uad a look over the building, and append a few p irticulars Tne two-story addition will give an l'lcvciS' of 10 bedrooms, all of which are neatly and tisiiy furnished. A cmfoitV>]e sino'duo-mom, with Frenc'i casements opening 01H on the balcony (which pins aionir th-> w sole front, of the building) has been added upstair- ; also private fitting-room-;. Any party, so h\siriug, can now have a p-iv.ir.e suite of rooms set apart for theni>elu>s. Altogether, some ;>0 beds are now available, and a noticeable fcafuiv in tin's hotel i* that every bedroom is pro\ Hcd with a coil of rope attached inside ne-u* the Avindow, as a means of escape in case of that scourge of all colonial towns, fire, breaking out, and the ordinal y means of eiviv^ bein<>- cut off. A large bath-room will be at once erected. The dining-room at present comfortable seats ;>(). but can Ik 1 easily enlarged at any time. The commercial room is in front on t\\o i> round floor, and lm-asiires 25.x: 18ft, off whuh are a small coffee-room and smu pirlour. Tiie liliard room jnsfc added is worthy of special notic . Its dim Misions are 24ftx 18ft, with two windows buck aid front. A raised platform runs along one side for the convenience of on- looker, for whom co.nfortable seats will be provided. The table itself should satisfy the most fastidious lover of r.he giccn cloth, being ono of Alcocks' be^t, and known as "Dnke of l']tlinburgh " table. It is ligiited by f! double-bin w lanips, suspended from a very handsome chandelier. Files ot the leading newspjipers will be kept in the commercial room. In fact, the accommodation and comfort now to be found at 1 his hotel is of arenlly superior cla^s ; and under the present able management we have no doubt it will recoi\e its full share of patronage. The building as now finished, ictlects much credit on the lucd architect, Mrj l'.ivitt, under whose eaivful fiipervision the we r.c was satis facto ri'y carried out by tho local contractors, Messrs West and Cross.
