Thr usual monthly meeting of the above was held on Mon In v evening last in the School lion-*.), W.iioron-jomai There were present — Me«*rs .1. Cuff (Chairman), 0 Aliier (Secretary), T. Lawless, D. J. Fra^er, and C. Brown, The. minutes of the previous meeting having been read and continued, sundry accounts were passed for p.iymenl., including an item of £4 9s lOd for a supply ol new slates to both the Te Aroha and Waioroniromai schools, procured from Mr Robert Burra, Thames. It was decided that the Committee canvass the inhabitants of both townships for subscriptions towards a fund for supplying 1 a school fof»*t for the children on the occasion of opening the new school house at Waiorongom u. which* event is arranged for Si. Patrick's Day, to be followed by a concert and dance in the evening, for admittance to which n charge, will be made, any surplus arising therefrom to bo handed over to the General Fund of the School Committee. An application was read from Mr Lovell, Secretary of the Waiorongomai Band of Hope, on behalf of that body, reiuesting that permission be granted by the School Commil.fee to hold a concert and dance in aid of the Piano Fund, in the new school house as soon as available. It was resolved that the application be held over until next monthly meeting. The Committee then a Ijourncd.
