STRIKE OF THE TRAMWAY EMPLOYES
In another portion of this issue appears an advertisement from two of the late employes on the tramway stating that their wages having been reduced to #s per diem, they have struck, and request that no other men should take employment on the tramway till the strike is ended. It appears that at the time the wages of th» mine hands were reduced those of the tramway employes were left untouched. The men had been at work during a portion of the holiday altering some of the grades, etc., and they feel that they have been hardly me , being in a manner led to believe^ that their wages were not to be touched. Much as we sympathise with the men we feel that some of the miners having accepted the reduction, the unity in which lay their strength is lost, and they will have to accept the inevitable and go back to work at the lower rate of wagq.
