TE AROHA BAND OF HOPE.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the above was held in the Wesleyan Church on Monday evening last. Mr Ilott in the chair. There was a large attendance. The Chairman briefly referred to the fact that this was their first meeting in the New Year — that although only formed some seven months ago tho Band of Hope already numbered close on 100 members ; and before the close of another year ho hoped it {would number far more than twice as many. He also referred to the work as a noble work, one on which thej T could ask and expect God's blessing. He considered to become total abstainers from their earliest yeais would prove the greatest benefit to the 'children, and save .them from many a snare and evil as they journeyed on through life. A programme consisting of readings, recitations, songs, &c, was then gone through. We may add that the meetings .in future will be held on Tuesday ,- instead of Monday, evening.
