FEARFUL DOUBLE TRAGEDY.

Chicago, December 21.— The "Tribune's" Quebec special cf December 20th says : A horrible murder, which ended by the suicide of the murderer, occurred this evening in a house of ill-fame on St. Helenstreet, St. lloche, kept by Eugenie Brilliard. A month ago a girl aged 19 years, named Elise Pare, arrived from Montreal and went to l'eside at Eugenie Brilliard 's, She had left her paramour, named James Mulrooney, in Montreal. Mulrooney had, on several occasions, openly manifested his intention of marrying: her. However, the evening before last he arrived in this city. He visited the house in question on the same evening, remaining a short time. He returned yesterday alternoon, and was in the girl's company until tea time. After tea she returned to her room, where she had left Mulrooney asleep. A few minutes after her entrance into the room one of the inmates, who was In the doorway of the room opposite to that occupied by the two, noticed Mulrooney point a pistol at the girl and immediately heard the report. She also saw the girl fall and another shot fired at the victim. Mulrooney then pointed the revolver towards the right side of his head,shot himself, and fell on the floor over his victim. Dr. Garneau was sent for, and on his arrival he found them both barely breathing, and they soon died.
