MASONIC INSTALLATION. Distriot Grand Lodge, E.C. Auckland, January 4.

This annual meeting of the District Grand' Lodge, E.G., was held in the Freemasons' Hall, Princes-street, last night. Brother G. S. Graham, District Grand Master, had come up from Wellington for the purpose of attending this meeting, and Brother Lodder, the D.D.G.M., was also present. The pedestals were draped with crape as a mark of respect for Brother Dr. Goldsbro', J.W. of the Grand Lodge. After a considerable amount of Grand Lodge routine business had been transacted, the D.G.M. nominated his officers. Mr A. Y. Macdonald was then unanimously re-elected Treasurer, and Captain Tonge, Tyler. Brother Moat was elected President of the Board of General Purposes : Brother Lodder, President of the Board of Benevolence ; Brother Moat, Senior Vicepresident, and Brother Dr. Dawson, jun., Vice - president of the Board of Benvolence. The officers were then invested at; follows :— Rev. C. M. Nelson, S W. ; Dr. Dawson, J.W. ; W. P. Moat, President of the Board of General Purposes ; Rev. W. Tebbs, D.G. Chaplin; A. Y. Macdonald, Treasurer; G. N. Brassey, D.G. Registrar; H. G. Wade, D.G. Sec. ; C. Hesketh, S. Deacon ;W. H. Fenton, J.D. ; Cooper and Cole, Directors of Gei'emonies ; W. R. Waddel, Superintendent of Works ; Clarke, Pursuivant; and Captain Tonge, Tyler. The communication, which was of un agreeable and harmonious character, was closed shortly after ten o'clock.
