Melbourne, Dec. 26.—T he match Victoria versus New South Wales commenced here to-day. At the close of the day's play the visitors had lost four wickets for 278 runs. The highest scorers were Murdoch, caught, 152 ; Jones, 32. Melkoukne, December 27. --The intercolonial cricket match was continued here to-day, when the first innings of the New South Wales team closed for 415. When the stumps were drawn for the day the home team had lost two wickets for 107.
Melbourne, December 28. The Intercolonial Cricket Match was continued here to-day, when the Victorians resumed their first innings. At the close of the day's play they had lost 5 wickets for 353 runs. Horan was bowled for 126, and Scott, not out, had scored 97.
Melbourne, December 29. At the intercolonial cricket match to-day, the Victorians concluded their first innings with a total of 420, of which Scott contributed 114. The visitors then commenced their second innings, and were all disposed of for 143- The match will be resumed on Monday, when the home team will commence their second innings, requiring 139 runs to win the match. In the case of the Calcutta Tea Association versus Joseph Webster and Co., for imitating plaintiffs label, the District Court fined defendants, and, in default of payment, rendered them liable to distraint and imprisonment.
Sydney, December 28. Seven men have been arrested by the police, on a charge of complication in the murder of Catherine Irven at Waterloo on Wednesday last.
Sydney, December 29. New Zealand wheat has advanced to 3s 9d per bushel. New Zealand oats have further fallen to 2s 4d. Maize remains at 3s sd, and the Sugar Company's No. 1 pieces at £34. The Colonial Treasurers of New South Wales and Victoria are now arranging assimilation of postage rates by the Orient and P.O. lines. A uniform rate will probably come into force shortly.

Brisbane, Dec. 31. An extraordinary case of mutiny and murder occurred on board the Swedish brigantine Natal on 26th November last, while bound from Boston to this port. The captain and mate were attacked in their cabins and wounded, and simultaneously the second mate (the captain's son) was killed and thrown overboard. In a " scrimmage," which" took place afterwards the captain was shot dead by the murderers. One of the sailors of the carpenter obtained the assistance of a passing vessel and arrived here. The three mutineers were arrested.
