MINING NEWS.
The mine managers and men are now rapidly returning to their sphere of operations. None have resumed work yet, but »!1 are suppo ed to be at their posts by Monday next. The Battery, which is now at a complete stand still, will also resume work it is expect d next week, probably about Wednesday, by which time the present alterations on the tramway will have been completed. TUe hollow in the centra o£ the May-Queen srlf acting lias been raised 10 i'eet, and the flat portion on Butler's Spur self-acting grade his been removed, Lome further improvements will probably fo'hnv later on. T.ie erection of the 13 new berduns adjoining the battery is now in progress.
