" Behold, He Cometh."

Ages ago in Eastern land They watched for Him, Listening oft for His chariot wheels. As the day grow dim ; And wondered if Ho would come again From Olivet; With wolcoming words on thoirhp3thoy looked; And lie tarries yet. Every year across Winter's snows. With wistful eyes. Eager disciples havo watched for Him To come fiom the skies. Evory year under Summer suns They havo sung His praise, And cried for Him from their yearning hearts ; But Ho still delays. They havo died at their watch on tho beacon heights. And wo take their placo ; Wo long, as they longed in the olden days, For the sight of his faco. The sad earth wants Him in her deep woo To give her rest, But the years pass on. and He docs not como To make us blest. Sometimes we look at the floating clouds, And in fancy trace The shining robes, and the feet of brass, And His glorious face. Wo hush our breath when the gleaning comes, And can almost hear Tho thrilling sound of His blessed words ; But He is not near. Yet courage, brothors, we have His word, And He will not fail ; Let us be patient, and watch and wail Till our prayers prevail. He will surely come, as Ho said Ho would, In tho light sublime ; And we shall forget, as wo sco His faco, This waiting time.
