One of the most curious cities in the world is jurfl about disappearing for a time, to re-appear when next winter comes. The population of t.'ris " city without a uauiu is about 500. Each hut is furnished with cooking uten&ils, hammocks, and a store, and is occupied by three men whose business on tueui is to follow a peculiar method of fishing, , In the centre of each lift a hole is 'dug to the water about a yard square". ' One of 'the fishermen fhen takes a live fish related to the hem-ing; tribe, anil after fastening it to a piece of pibdv- Lhrj&l drops it iuto the water.
The fish dashes away swift as an arrow, until it is pulled np by the thread, whoa it returns towards the hole followed by a host of pike and othor Inriyp fish dem-ons to feast on the dainty morsel. This city of fishes is nhont ten' miles from Bay City, and six miles from j (ho mouth of the "ftai??naw River and the hanks of the lake.
