A GRAVEL GROWL.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir. — Kindly give me room in your valuable paper to point out what I consider a wrong to the community, viz., the re moval of gravel from allotments and streets to make good other allotments deficient in that material. The County Council, I understand, secured an allotment behind Wells and Soutter's Ironmongery store (late Carr and Sons.) This lot has been used as a gravel-pit, but I understand it is now the property, of Messrs Wells and Soutter, and gfravel is now being taken indiscriminately all round, even the surveyed street not being held sacred. The sooner we have a Borough and Councillors the better. — I am, <Sbc, l G. S. O'Halloran.
