THE SMALLEST BABY EVER BORN.
There was born afc Carson, Ncv. a few days ago, the smallest baby in the world. The father is a miner, in the employ of the Northern Bell Coy., an* I n weighs perhaps iDOlbs, ati<l ilio mother
is a stout heolthy woman, weighing 16Olbs. TII 9 child is a male, as perfectly formed as a human being can be, but on its birth weighed only eight ounces. The face is about the size of a horse chestnut, and the size of its limbs may be imagined when we say that a ring, worn on the little finger of its mother, was easily pulled over its foot to the knee. One informant states that it was the opinion of thoj attending physician that the child would live, and , prosper in good heolth, notwithstanding its diminutive proportions. The midget is so small that three of its size could easily play ' hide-and-seek ' in a cigarbox. This is undoubtedly the smallest baby ever born.
