A pro. longed engagement took place following upon an ambush. It is be. lieved the volunteers have ten dead, besides wounded and prisoners. It is' doubtful how many soldiers were killed. A strong force of military with ambulances was despatched to the scene. THE RAILWAY STRIKE. Received 110.10 a.m. LONDON, Dec, 21. The Irish railwaymen have decided to resume if promised that no one will be victimised.
