THE DAIRYING INDUSTRY.
LOCAL EXPANSION. The high prices ruling for butterfat have been, the cause of a great expansion in the industry locally. The supplies to the Ohutu factory have increased nearly fifty per cent., and are still increasing. Dairy farming is being combined with sheepfhrming to a much greater extent than when wool prices were good, and it is probable that if prices continue as at present for a good many sheepfarmers will go in for dairying instead. (The amount paid out to suppliers to the Ohutu factory for the past month totalled £6OOO, which is easily a record for Company since its inception.
