COMMENT ON f AUSTRALIAN SCHEME. Received 10 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 16. Sir William Raynor, Chairman of the Colonial Woolbuyers' Association in an interview said the Australian scheme was clearly designed to maintaiß prices on a higher level than the natural competitive basis, and must inevitably be prejudicial to British trades and manufacturers. It was appalling to find that the Government Wool Department was able to float fifteen millions and had not met the inaret by reducing the price for the rake off by about one penny per lb. The Department refused offers of a considerable amount of profitable business .
