A social and dance at Bennett's Siding last night in aid of the Soldiers' MemoriaHft**id was a great success The music was supplied by'Mrs Hall, and extras' by" Mr A. Swenson and Mr McGwillam. The walzting competition was won by Mr Carroll and Miss Quinlan, with Mr Sorenson and Mis§ Iris Evans second, and Mr Blackie and MtSs Violet Evans third, The judges were Messrs Sep. Reid and J. Quirk. A large number of passengers were coriveyed from Taihape by Mr Bowater free of charge. The commodities auctioned by Mr Blackie sold well and he made an excellent salesman. Mr E. Anderson officiated as M.C. .The supper and floor were well Up to the usual high (standard. The'memorial fund will benefit to the extent of about £B.
