THE WOOL SITUATION.
THE REALISATION PROPOSAL. CRITICISED BY YORKSHIRE PRESS. * Received 10 a,m. LONDON, Dec. 14. ( The Yorkshire newspapers continue to fiercely criticise the wool • realisation proposal. > > The Yorkshire Post says the Aus : tralian suggestion to have sold back two million bales at a considerably lower price than was paid to them in order to solely advance their own interest in the attempt to corner the wool market is regarded as anything but a modest proposal. Wool traders here hope that the future of our wool and textile industries will not bo jeopardised merely to enable the woolgrowers of Australia to maintain a price for their raw material on a preferential basis as compared with values at other sources of production. The Australians have sold their wool and must abide by their contract.
The Post adds; Other traders are sustaining heavy losses because values have moved towards a reasonable basis. The woolgrowers of Australia have been paid a flat rate at which they were glad, to sell during hostilities. It is only reasonable that they should now help to restore confidente in a revival of business by ,'etcing wool find its economic basit.
