THE SIXPENNY WOOL PACK.
Tit Is apparent that hSouth American Kwool is reaching the British market , L in more than ordinarily large quan--1 titles, hut even were the volume from that quarter treble what it is it could 'have little effect in 'Sxing permanent market values under such extraordinary economic conditions as now obtain, and must continue till the wool ' in Europe entirely disappears. 'A “sixpenny” crowd inANew Zealand (■are using the South American wool i bogey to frighten wotd. out of local ' growers, but with the relief promised I J fby "Government, even the most needy wool-farmer should be Able to wait ' until the cheap American stuff is otit of the way. The indications are that 'prices paid for New Zealand wool will shortly equal, if not exceed, the rei quisitioned figure. As reconstruction progresses in much devastated and unrestful countries wool values must, ; it. seems, considerably improve. The . wool grower who has -patience Is sure of his reward, for despite the talk about enormous • storage of wool, there is not a hundredth part of the quantity needed to meet the demand; and Germany; Italy and other peoples are not going to remain penniless for very long. Wool*growers are quite safe in letting the ‘'sixpenny gangs* y -go back to Britain, or to South j America, taking their sixpences with I them.
