CHRISTCRURCH, Dec. 2. At the sheepekin sales to-day the market showed a further weakness particularly for faulty skins and pelts However, brokers generally appeared to have a freer hand in meeting the market and some catalogues were practically cleared either at auction or subsequently. On an average the market was down from |d to Id per lb. from the preceding sale. Some of the prices obtained were: 8d per lb the prices obtained were: 8d per lb for super merino; 6§d for sound halfbrels; skl .for faulty "half-breds; 5M for sound three-quart.er breds; 4Jd for sound crossbred hoggets; 3 : }d for faultv crossbred.
LONDON MAEKETS. Messrs Dalgety and Company report having received the following cablegram froyn their London Office under date of Ist. instant: Tallow: 1950 casks were, offereu ami 1160 casks sold. Low and inferior descriptions 1/ to 2/ higheTT were lower for other descriptions and quantities 1/ to 2/.
LONDON WOOL SALES WELLINGTON, This day. The Prime Minister has received a cable from the Director-General of Kaw Materials, stating that the demand for crossbred at the London November wool sales was very limited, particularly for coarser qualities. Reserves were based on approximately the following prices for A and B grades: Average combing greasy wools 60 to 64, merino 24d to 26d; 56 to 58, halfbred, 201 d to 26|d; 48 to 50, fine crossbred®, 17 Jd to 20id; 44 to 46, medium crossbreds ;15d to 16fd; 36 to 40, coarse crossbred, 13£d to 14|d. The Director-General adds that it is his intention to fix limits for greasy wool, 44 to 46 and below, at the December sales at nett New Zealand appraisement prices without any addition for charges. These are approximately 44 to to 46, 15£d to 17d; 6to 40 14Jd to 151 d. He estimates the following are prices at which wool would s,ell freely: 60 to 40, merino, 24d to 26d; 56 tosß, halfbred 19£d to 25:}d; 48 to 50, fine crossbred, 15id to 18gd; 44 to 46, medium crossbred 12|d to 14d; 36 to 40, coarse crossbred, 10gd to ll^d.
