» BAILWAYMEN’S agreement. MAETON, Nov. 30. At a representative meeting the following resolution was carried unanimously: "That the Marton branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants of New Zealand indignantly and emphatically protests against and wholeheartedly condemns the action of the Department in contravening, both in spirit and letter, the terms of Clause .23 of the agreement arrived at between the Executive Council and the Department on June 23. We furthermore call upon the Executive Council to take the necessary action immediately to have all the terms of the agreement adhered to and liberatlly Interpreted, which though promised had not been carried out."
TICKETS'FOR RAFFLES. WELLINGTON, Nov. 30. The Minister of Internal Affairs announces that ■he intends to stop the practice of juveniles setting tickets for raffles anfl will make provision, “That no boy under 14 years, and no girl under 16 shall be allowed to sell ' or offer for sale tickets in any street, hotel, shop, office, factory, boardinghouse, or at any gathering of the public in any public place.?’
