INTERESTED. —The srst Borough. Council election was held on June 27, 1906, Mr T. Slrate being the Returning Officer. The poll ? resulted as follows; A. James 168, Jno. Suclair 153, R. W. Smith 144, S. Bebau 141, W. J. H. McCormick 139, Wm, McLennan 133, W. A. Ellis 129, the foregoing being elected. The unsuccessful candidates were; J. P. Aldridge 110, Mark Barr 92, A. T. Vickers 73, R. Healey 65, W. D. Davidson 52, H. TV. Litflewood • 51, and Martin Anso 40. The Mayoral election resulted as follows: A. Nathan 149. F. H. Gbhons 82. E. A. Wakeman 15.'
