METHODIST SOCIAL.
At the Methodist Hall on 'Wednesday last some 70« people gathered to tender a hearty welcome to a number of now arrivals to Taihape: namely, Miss Davies ,Mr and Mrs Barney, Mr Mrs and Miss Sharpe, Mr Dix, and Mr and Mrs Greenwood. Items were rendered by Mrs Niven, Mr and Miss Thompson, and Miss Lovell, whilst Mrs Thompson acted as accompanist. Speeches of welcome were delivered by Messrs Darvill, Cunninghame, Simpson, Stevens, Thompson, and Rev. W. Lea. The ladies of the congregation afterwards dispensed refreshments.
