CHRISTCHURCH WOOL SALES. CHRISTCHURCH, Nov. 15. The first auction sale of wool since the expiration of the commandeer was held to-day, when close on 2500 bales were catalogued. ’ : There'was a big representation of buyers, but bus?fellmongery firms and several local, fellmongery firms everal locar. Values slumped badly on commandeer value, representing a decline of quite sixpence per lb. on medium, and low. grade wools. Super merino sold ■to % two-thirds' last November’s approximate value, but super halfbred was down quite sevenpence per lb., a&td crossbreds were, similarly affected. The sagging in halfbred values was due to the local' mills operating only to a very limited extent. Only 360 odd bales of the catalogue were disposed of, and these consisted principally of pieces and bellies.' All buyers bad sharply defined' limits; the sur° prise of the sale was the lack of demand for wool of the quality of 60’s and upwards. A weak sale for crossbreds was anticipated, but the dro® was greater than expected, and competition was only fortcoming for the best quality. Following is the range of values: y Super merino to 23d; super halfbred 22|d to 23d; medium halfbred 10|d to 12d; super three-quarterbred, lOd to Hid; medium do. 8d to 10§d; super crossbred 7d to S4d; medium I crossbred 6d to 6fd; first halfbred pieces ll|d to 13d; second halfbred do. 7d to ll|d; crossbred, pieces, s|d to 7|d; forks, 2|d to 6|d; crutehings, 3d‘to 7|d.
