The present champion is W. Fogwell, wlicr'lias come from Austrhlia to defend the title against the challenge?' (P. * Hanan, of Blenheim). Both men have gone through a long course of training. The prospects of each "are decidedly good, and it is generally anticipated that the race will resolve itself into one of th.e finest struggles that have ever taken place for the championship.
