Eiggty thousand refugees from the Crimea are asking for transportation abroad, but transport ia limited and it will probably be impossible to embark more than twenty thousand. The first refugees arrived at Constantinople, but were not permitted to land owing to congestion of housing and scarcity of food. The refugees' plight is the gravest.
